October, 2008 I.W. Tremont announces membership in the Laboratory Products Association

We are proud to announce our membership in the LPA (Laboratory Products Association). Membership in this group, along with our ongoing membership in ILDA (Independent Laboratory Distributors Association) affords us the opportunity to play an active role in the introduction of products for the scientific community as well as increase our presence with new and existing resellers, customers and researchers. We value the relationships formed within both trade associations.

Two I.W. Tremont employees certified as ISO9001:2000 Internal Auditors

As required by ISO9001:2000, two employees have become Certified Internal Auditors. This level of certification brings Tremont closer to the goal of registration with TUV Rheinland in April 2009 and the continual improvement of our quality management system. We would like to thank these employees for their commitment to the educational process associated with testing for this certification.

September, 2008 I.W. Tremont contracts with TUV Rheinland as ISO9001:2000 registrar.

In choosing a registrar for I.W. Tremont, a careful study was initiated to find a “global partner” that will fairly audit our firm as well as aid in the continual improvement we have committed our company to. We feel strongly that TUV Rheinland’s unquestionable professionalism suites our needs both now and well into the future. Their market experience combined with global presence makes them a valued resource to our company.

August, 2008 The I.W. Tremont Green Initiative program is adopted

While observing ecologically friendly manufacturing processes for over 25 years, Effective August 1st 2008, I.W. Tremont will formally observe a green initiative program designed to further reduce the carbon footprint
of our manufacturing operation as well as establish a framework for future “Green “ planning. We feel that by incorporating eco-planning into our daily operations we have added value and efficiency to our company, while being
a good neighbor and responsible user of natural resources. To read more To read more

July, 2008 ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System initiated

I.W. Tremont began ISO 9001:2000 compliance planning and documentation in June 2008 with a targeted date of April 2009 for registration. While strict quality procedures have always been in place at Tremont, the next phase of our growth is to register our QMS and comply with the important ISO standards. We are confident that by implementing ISO9001:2000, our business
will run more efficiently while affording our customers even better service and value.

Effective June 2008, I.W. Based upon a multi-tier relational database, our system has been closely fine tuned to suit the needs of our business today and will into the future.

May, 2008 Facility renovations are initiated

To further our commitment of performance, we have initiated some renovation work to our facility in Hawthorne, New Jersey. We are expanding our office space while adjusting our warehousing and shipping areas for more efficient product flow.

April, 2008 Product line review conducted

As part of our ongoing effort to provide our dealers and resellers in the laboratory supply markets with the most effective product offering possible, we have completed our annual market survey. This survey helps ensure that our offering is current and pertinent to today’s laboratory filtration needs. The data which is extracted from this survey is disseminated to our dealers via the offering of the upcoming year and is found to be helpful in making market position and purchasing decisions.

March, 2008 New website design complete

We have completed the conversion of our website to this new design, which will allow much more freedom for future information content. The nature of this open architecture will allow more reliable data conveyance across multiple platforms. We are excited about this change and hope to expand its future use to include password protected access for our dealers as well as customer service tasks such as order tracking and project planning.
